AP Calculus BC is a full-year high school mathematics course that is comparable to calculus found in colleges and universities. AP Calculus BC progresses at a faster pace than AP Calculus AB. Calculus BC includes all topics covered in Calculus AB plus additional topics. Content includes elementary differential and integral calculus, including analytic geometry. Students work with functions represented in a variety of ways; develop an understanding of the connections among these representations, derivatives and the use of derivatives to solve a variety of problems. Technology is used to help solve problems, conduct experiments, interpret results, and verify conclusions. Students take the AP examination for Calculus BC.
It is strongly recommended that a student take MA813: AP Calculus AB before taking this course.
