Advisor/mentor programs

All certificated employees are assigned a dedicated mentor who will provide them with guidance and support in navigating their new role within the District.

We are excited to be launching our brand new Support Staff Advisor program in the
2023-2024 school year. Assigned Advisors will provide support and guidance throughout the employee’s first year in their role.

Rimborso delle lezioni

We offer a generous tuition reimbursement program that allows up to 12 credits of reimbursement per year and is available to staff upon starting their position.

We provide annual opportunities for professional learning and career development for all employees, including invited presenters, conference travel, and employee-led programs.

Support Staff to Teacher Pipeline

The District has recently launched our Teacher Pathway program in partnership with Millersville University. Participants selected for the program will enroll in coursework at Millersville that will lead to earning a PA teaching certificate.

Principal Residency program

SDoL educators looking to obtain a principal certification and grow into a school leadership role have the opportunity to participate in a two-year program for on-site development and training under the direction of a veteran school principal.

Be in demand

We’re looking for highly skilled professionals. That’s why we recognize and reward your relevant work experience by offering credit for up to 10 years.

Do you have a Bachelor’s degree or are you fluent in multiple languages? Upon verification, we provide additional compensation for your in-demand skills and expertise.

SDoL takes pride in providing the most comprehensive range of educational services and support for students in the region, including learning support, emotional support, autistic support, and life skills support. We have a high demand for skilled special education teachers and offer:

  • Additional pay for those holding the appropriate certification and teaching state-approved Special Education classes
  • Case management days – two days per year free of other duties or assignments to allow for
    completion of writing IEPs, data collection, or progress monitoring needs
  • Instructional Program Managers support – an additional resource for collaboration
