IB Marine Science is the study of the largest ecosystem on the planet, the ocean. This course focuses on the ocean’s physical and chemical properties, as well as the different groups of organisms that make it their home. This course is ideal for students interested in marine biology, oceanography, ecology, and conservation biology. IB Marine Science students are expected to engage in laboratory investigations, group projects, and complete an internal assessment (IA) as part of the course requirements.
