The School District of Lancaster is committed to be a high performing district in teaching, learning, student achievement and future readiness. Our academics are broad and deep with multi-tiered systems of support and acceleration to help students learn at their own pace.
SDoL understand that life happens outside of school. That's why we provide a host of services, from counseling to social work and health care to free meals for all students. Our student services help students navigate life's challenges while continuing to learn and grow.
SDoL's renowned arts programs allow students to flourish in music, visual art and theatrical performances. Known as one of "America's Best Communities for Music Education," there is something for every student—in and outside of the classroom.
McCaskey's legedary Red Tornado athletic programs have produced standout professional and collegiate athletes for nearly a century. Offering 18 varsity sports and a host of JV and middle school programs, SDoL athletics involves thousands of student-athletes annually.
The School District of Lancaster is led by an elected board of nine school directors, a superintendent of schools and administrative team, overseeing core areas of teaching and learning, finance, student services, talent and employee engagement and communications.
SDoL is composed of some 23 buildings across 13.5 square miles. The district is in the third phase of a comprehensive plan to remodel its historic schools and construct new buildings to ensure modern, clean facilities for learning.
