Staying Connected

Ripple Creators Media Camp is a one-week, hands-on program created in partnership between Ripple Hub and the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design, and powered by the Lancaster County STEM Alliance. Students (ages 13–17) will learn how media production connects to real-world STEM careers by creating a professional commercial for a local nonprofit.
This is not a traditional camp — it’s a project-based production experience where students collaborate, problem-solve, and bring an idea to life from concept to final showcase.
What students will experience:
Work with a real client, LancasterHistory
Film on location at the Lydia Hamilton Smith & Thaddeus Stevens Museum
Learn camera, lighting, audio, and editing skills
Collaborate in production teams
Premiere a finished commercial at a public showcase

Before the school day even begins, our cafeterias are already up and running. Breakfast is being prepared. Lunches are being organized. By the time students walk through the doors, there’s already a system in place making sure they’re taken care of.
On National School Lunch Hero Day, we’re recognizing the Food and Nutrition team across the School District of Lancaster. Every day, they make sure students have access to healthy meals without cost, removing one more barrier so students can focus on being in class, learning, and growing.
The scale of that work is easy to overlook. Over 9,000 lunches and 4,500 breakfasts are served every day across the district. Over the course of a year, that turns into more than a million meals. It takes a team that knows how to show up and get it done.
Our Food and Nutrition team is part of that foundation.
They follow strict nutrition standards. They adjust across different schools and schedules. They prepare meals for field trips, events, and even extend their work into the summer so students can continue to access meals outside of the school year.
Today is a chance to recognize that. To our Food and Nutrition team, thank you for what you do and the role you play in every school day.
