This week’s staff shoutout goes to Mady Weyman, 6th Grade Language and Literature Teacher at Jackson Middle School
In her third year at SDoL, Mady has already made an impact. When asked about her favorite part of the job, she shared, “The kids… their lightbulb moments, their resilience, their unique stories and strengths, their smiles.” Helping her students grow into the best versions of themselves is what fuels her passion, and it shows every single day.
Mady’s love for the district stems from a strong sense of community. “I’ve met so many people who are willing to share resources, time, and connections,” she said. She believes in the power of collaboration, and her work reflects that commitment to building strong relationships between schools, families, and community partners.
A colleague shared, “Ms. Weyman has the heart and skill of a seasoned teacher. She’s a continuous ray of sunshine in our building, always going above and beyond for her students and coworkers. Her positive attitude, listening ear, and compassionate heart make her an invaluable part of our team.”
One of her most notable accomplishments this year was serving as a WEB Coordinator. She worked with her team to support 8th graders stepping into leadership roles as they guided their younger peers. Watching these students grow into leaders was a proud moment, and she hopes they continue to spread positivity as they move forward, “It takes a village. The most amazing part for me was getting to watch the batch of 8th graders who applied and were accepted to be WEB Leaders step into their roles. They showed drive, initiative, and accountability when working with the 6th graders and pursuing their own studies and activities. These students are now 9th graders, and I hope they will continue to be leaders and vessels of positivity and encouragement.”
In addition to her classroom work, Mady is almost finished with her master’s degree in Multicultural Education—just two classes left! When she’s not at school, she’s likely reading, trying new recipes, or planning her next travel destination.
Mady exemplifies our SDoL value of Collaboration by fostering connections, sharing resources, and supporting everyone around her. Thank you, Mady, for all that you do for our students and staff!
Thank you, Ms. Weyman, for everything you do!
