Meals are part of a larger commitment to student success. Every breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack served across our schools reflects our belief that good nutrition and learning are deeply connected.
That’s why we’re inviting compassionate, community-minded individuals to join us at our upcoming Food Services Hiring Event on Wednesday, July 9, from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McCaskey East High School.
Our Food Services team plays an essential role in the lives of more than 10,000 students. Each day, we serve approximately 9,000 lunches and 4,500 breakfasts, all at no cost to families, through the federally funded Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). By participating in the National School Breakfast Program, National School Lunch Program, and the Afternoon Snack Program, we ensure that every student, regardless of background, has access to the nourishment they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
These meals meet rigorous USDA standards. From daily fruit and vegetable servings to calorie and sodium guidelines tailored by grade level, every item we serve supports students’ health and development. Behind this massive operation is a small but mighty team: five food service leaders and 70 dedicated staff members who make it all possible, working across our district’s kitchens, satellites, and cafeterias.
This work matters. Every tray served is an act of care. Every meal prepared is a step toward equity. If you’re looking for a purpose-driven job that makes a difference in your community, this is your chance.
Come learn more about our positions, meet members of our team, and explore how you can play a role in keeping our students healthy, energized, and ready to learn. Whether you have years of experience or are just beginning your journey, there’s a place for you in the School District of Lancaster’s Food Services family.
