Learning lives in the moments when our students, staff, and community come together to make a difference. That spirit was on full display today at Advantage Lancaster‘s annual Pink Lancaster Walk, a powerful reminder of how compassion and community can move us forward, one step at a time.
Each October, Advantage Lancaster unites students and neighbors to raise funds and awareness for families affected by cancer. This year’s event honored the life of Ruth Thomas, described by loved ones as “a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, mother-in-law, and child of God.” Her legacy of love and resilience continues to inspire the mission behind Pink Lancaster.
Proceeds from this year’s walk will support both the Penn Medicine Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute and Advantage Lancaster’s ongoing programming, helping students grow through academic enrichment, leadership development, and community service.
Since 2011, Pink Lancaster has contributed more than $60,000 to various organizations.
We are proud to celebrate the efforts of everyone who made this event possible and the many hands and hearts that turned purpose into action. We walk not only in memory of those we’ve lost but in solidarity with all who continue to fight.
