Due to several factors, the School District of Lancaster will have a Flexible Instructional Day (FID) on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
In addition to the forecast for cold temperatures, the FID will allow additional time for improvements to street conditions and walkability in the city, especially on sidewalks and crosswalks, and for snow removal around schools.
Grab-and-go lunches will be available for all students at any of these locations:
- JP McCaskey High School
- Jackson Middle School
- E.R. Martin School
- Reynolds Middle School
- Wheatland Middle School
Lunches can be picked up by any SDoL student any time between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at these sites.
On a Flexible Instructional Day:
- Learning begins at 9:00 a.m. for middle and high school and 10:00 a.m. for elementary students.
- Teachers will post lessons in Schoology (Grades 6–12) and Seesaw (Grades K–5).
- Students are expected to complete the assignments provided.
- Virtual office hours and ways to contact your child’s teacher will be shared the morning of the FID.
Turning in work, online or on paper, counts as attendance and shows your child was engaged in learning. Please be sure your student completes their work on the iPad or returns the paper packet to their teacher when school resumes.
