Earlier this month, we shared information about a water leak that occurred in your child’s classroom, Room 114. As promised, we are writing to update you on the results of a professional Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) assessment conducted in that room and in surrounding areas.
Overall, all spaces tested were rated between “good” and “excellent,” meaning the air quality meets accepted standards for healthy indoor environments and confirms that these areas are environmentally safe. The assessment identified a trace amount of a common environmental mold in the Art Room; however, the level detected does not indicate a concern with air quality. Out of an abundance of caution, the Facilities Department will conduct a visual inspection of the Art Room next week. We will also continue using HEPA-filtered air purifiers in classrooms to help maintain strong indoor air quality.
For families who would like additional details, the full IAQ reports can be viewed below.
Also next week, the Facilities Department will install new temperature and humidity sensors in accordance with district guidelines. Ceiling tiles that show staining and water damage will be replaced as soon as the new materials are delivered.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we remain diligent in ensuring our school is a safe and healthy environment for all students and staff.
Sincerely,
Yaliza Morales
