The first day of school may still be a little more than a week away, but Penn Medicine Park already felt like back-to-school season on Sunday.
Families filled the ballpark Aug. 9 for State Reps. Rep. Nikki Rivera and Representative Smith-Wade-El’s 15th Annual Back to School Event, bringing students, families, community organizations and local leaders together before the start of another school year.
For the School District of Lancaster, being at Penn Medicine Park was an opportunity to connect with families outside of our school buildings and help them get ready for the 2026-2027 school year.
The afternoon gave students in kindergarten through eighth grade the chance to receive free haircuts and enjoy food, music, games and other activities, while families connected with organizations and learned more about programs and services available across the community.
We’re excited to welcome our students back and start another school year alongside the families and community who support them! For more photos, visit us on Facebook.
