McCaskey announces 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees

McCaskey will welcome three alumni and two championship teams into its Athletic Hall of Fame, recognizing achievements that helped shape the school’s athletic history. This year’s honorees are Amy Bunting-Hess, Aaron Swinton Jr., Ceasar Westbrook, the 1994 McCaskey Boys Soccer Team and the 1990 McCaskey Football Team.

The induction ceremony will take place Friday, October 16, at 4:30 p.m. in the JP Gymnasium, with doors opening for guests at 4 p.m. The celebration will continue that evening when McCaskey hosts Manheim Township at 7 p.m. Hall of Fame inductees will be recognized on the field at halftime.

“Welcoming these athletes and teams back to McCaskey gives our students a chance to meet the people behind the records and championship banners,” said Teasia Peña, Athletic Director. “We’re proud to recognize what they accomplished and to give their families, former coaches and teammates an opportunity to celebrate with them.”

Amy Bunting-Hess, Class of 2009, distinguished herself on the soccer field as a four-year varsity player and two-year captain. She earned Lancaster-Lebanon League All-Star recognition in each of her first three seasons and All-State honors as a junior. She also earned two varsity letters in field hockey. Although an injury in the opening game ended her senior soccer season, she continued her career at Elizabethtown College, earning All-Conference honors in all four years, All-Region recognition in three seasons and All-American honors as a senior.

Aaron Swinton Jr., Class of 2013, earned eight varsity letters across football, basketball and track and field. In football, he received All-League honors as a defensive back, running back and kick returner, was named his team’s Most Valuable Player and earned selection to the 2013 Big 33 All-Star Game. A four-year basketball letter winner at point guard, he also earned Second-Team All-League recognition as a junior. Swinton continued his football career at William & Mary, where he was a four-year starter and earned the team’s 2016 Defensive Player of the Year award. His accomplishments extended to the classroom, where he earned an undergraduate degree in economics and a graduate degree in accounting.

Ceasar Westbrook, Class of 2006, contributed to McCaskey’s success in football and basketball while establishing himself as one of the school’s leading track and field athletes. He was part of the 2003 Section One championship football team and the basketball teams that won consecutive Lancaster-Lebanon League titles in 2005 and 2006. During his senior track season, Westbrook won district titles in both the long jump and triple jump before becoming the PIAA state champion in the triple jump and state runner-up in the long jump. He broke Barney Ewell’s school long jump record and placed third in the triple jump at the high school national championships. At Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he continued competing in football and track and field, earning All-American recognition in the triple jump. After earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Westbrook went on to teach art at Robert Benjamin Wiley Community Charter School in Erie.

The 1994 McCaskey Boys Soccer Team finished 26-2-1, won the District III championship and earned a No. 17 national ranking. Coached by John Fellenbaum, the team secured McCaskey’s second consecutive Lancaster-Lebanon League title and advanced to the PIAA state quarterfinals. McCaskey scored 120 goals and allowed just 19 throughout the season, outscoring opponents 12-1 during its district championship run. Captains Kosta Bournelis, Jason O’Malley, Steve Eagon and Bill McMurtrie helped lead a team that became one of only two McCaskey boys soccer squads to win a district title.

The 1990 McCaskey Football Team completed an 11-0 regular season and captured the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section One championship under head coach Jack Neal. Led by captains Kyle Brown, Jason McKay and Daryl Hartman, the team scored 263 points while allowing just 65 during the regular season, including four shutouts. Brown rushed for 1,436 yards and earned Section One Offensive Back of the Year honors, while George Suydam was recognized as both Defensive Lineman of the Year and Outstanding Lineman of the Year. The team joins McCaskey’s undefeated regular-season squads of 1959 and 1988 in the Hall of Fame. Its connection to the district continues through alumni including Aaron Swinton Sr., principal of Reynolds Middle School, and Ryan Schlinkman, an assistant principal at McCaskey.

Friday’s celebration will bring these graduates back to the school where their accomplishments began, with another generation of Red Tornado athletes taking the field.
