AP Calculus AB prepares students to succeed in four-year colleges and universities and provides opportunities for students to earn college credits while in high school. This course is a college-level mathematics course that prepares students to continue their study of calculus in college. Content includes elementary differential and integral calculus, including analytic geometry as required for development of the concepts of calculus. Students work with functions represented in a variety of ways; develop an understanding of the connections among these representations, derivatives, and the use of derivatives to solve a variety of problems. Technology is used to help solve problems, conduct experiments, interpret results, and verify conclusions. This course prepares students to complete the AP examination for Calculus AB.
