Who: Any child and their family currently enrolled in Smith Wade El Elementary School!
When: Students in Pre-K thru Grade 2 from 1.30-2.30 p.m. OR students in Grade 3-5 from 3-4 p.m.
If you have a younger student and an older student attending the school, please pick the time that works best for your family to attend. We are asking that you only attend one session.
Where: The SWE teachers’ parking lot (near the car rider drop off/pick up loop). We are planning to utilize the whole teacher parking lot so please park along Hamilton Park Dr. or in Wheatland Middle School lower parking lot (between the baseball field and the school).
What:
- Please bring Blankets to sit on for your family or folding beach chairs! We will NOT be supplying seating.
- The weather on Saturday will be brisk (sunny but only a high of 54 degrees). Make sure you are warmly dressed because we will be outside for the entire event.
- There will be light snacks available for families.
- There will be access to bathrooms in the SWE building.
COVID Safety: Let’s keep our (unvaccinated) kids and their families safe during the current surge of Covid-19 in Lancaster County. Our goal is to have fun AND prevent the spread of Covid-19 so our kids can STAY IN SCHOOL. We do NOT want a fun event to lead to a school closure. Please adhere to the following Covid-19 protocols (also used by the School District of Lancaster):
- We ask that all members of the community wear a mask. We understand we will be outside but there will likely be a large group of people – let’s protect each other by wearing a mask. Masking on school property is also an SDoL policy. We will have disposable masks for kids and adults available – we will ask you to mask if you attend.
- Please sanitize your hands when you arrive and before you take snacks. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
- Please try to maintain 6 feet of distance between families, especially when eating.
