The state champion McCaskey High School Unified Track and Field team visited the PA Senate chambers Wednesday to hear the reading of a proclamation in their honor.
The athletes observed from the gallery as state Sen. Scott Martin commended them for winning PIAA team gold last spring and posed on the floor of the chamber with the senator. The students also enjoyed lunch and a tour of the Capitol.
The unified track team provides opportunities for students, both with disabilities and without disabilities, to participate and compete meaningfully in sports. The team promotes inclusion, acceptance and respect.
