Chemistry B

Chemistry B is a first-year chemistry program with less emphasis on theory and mathematical aspects than Chemistry A. This is a lab-centered approach to deliver adequate preparation for students planning on entering a two-year degree program or a vocational program.  It serves as a laboratory science for college acceptance.  The first semester of this laboratory-centered course covers the topics of laboratory safety and equipment, measurement, graphing, properties and changes of matter, matter and its classification, atomic theory, periodic classification of the elements, and chemical bonding. The second semester covers topics such as Kinetic Molecular Theory, chemical reactions, solutions, acid-base theory, and gas laws.
