Education Soccer – Afternoon and Evening Summer Camp
July 17, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - July 27, 2023 @ 8:00 pm
Fundamentally, the AFCLL Academy soccer program is rooted in Social Learning Theory (Bandura, 1977). This theory holds that individuals learn by observing within the social context in which they live, involving several types of instruction: live, verbal, and symbolic. Learning is facilitated or impeded by factors such as attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation. AFCLL Academy programming includes live (i.e. modeled) and verbal instruction delivered by trained coaches. Coaches are also seen as influential role models, another important concept in Bandura’s theory. Repetitive, consistent instruction, through exciting and engaging soccer content, will develop leadership skills, build teamwork, improve the student’s confidence, and showcase and improve their talents. soccer field sessions will be done in the evening while reading and class sessions will be held in the afternoons throughout the camp period, emphasizing five critical domains of the program – Tutoring, physical activity, nutrition, mentorship, Positive future pathways by changing their attitude towards post-secondary education through the game, NCAA recruiting process seminar for student-athletes, parents and family engagement – maximizing attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation.
