Throughout the school year, your Kindergarten student will have additional science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) activities in their classroom. These activities are part of a partnership called Adopt-A-Kindergarten with Thaddeus Stevens College, a college located on the south side of Lancaster City with a variety of trade and technical programs. We sometimes will have faculty, staff, and college students present in your student’s classroom providing activities prepared especially for Kindergartners. Your student’s Kindergarten class might also come to visit the College’s campus. At the end of the school year, your student’s classroom might come to the College’s campus for a graduation ceremony!

When your student is nearing high school graduation, they might consider attending Thaddeus Stevens College. The College has many grants, scholarships, and loans to help pay for tuition and related costs. The College also offers its own Stevens Grant, available to those who qualify based on federal income guidelines. 97 percent of the College’s graduates have a job or are pursuing continuing education after graduating from Thaddeus Stevens College, and 95 percent of them stay to live and work in Pennsylvania, in roles such as software engineer, graphic designer, CAD technician, auto body repair technician, construction foreman, or welder.
