The Biden Harris Administration has announced a national week of action around FAFSA Completion to take place the week of April 15-19. Due to the issues with opening of the new version of the FAFSA form, completion is down nationwide around 30% compared to last year. We are offering FAFSA Completion Appointments on Wednesday April 17th as we answer the call to action!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is an important and necessary step along the road to postsecondary education, unlocking potentially thousands of dollars in aid to help pay for the cost of further education. The FAFSA is not only for students planning to attend a 4-year college. There are many local short-term training opportunities that are eligible for federal student aid, including adult programs at the CTC, Lancaster School of Cosmetology, and other short-term programs in the skilled trades and the medical field.
Even if you are not considering college right now, it is important to file the FAFSA before May 1st in case you change your mind. May 1 is the deadline for eligibility for the PA State Grant, and you must have a FAFSA on file to receive the State Grant. Failure to do so leaves money on the table that you might wish you had…
