A different kind of school day: annual Ed Conference

While students had a day away from the classroom, learning across the School District of Lancaster didn’t pause, it shifted. Our educators, staff, and leaders came together for the annual Professional Education Conference. It was a day centered not on instruction, but on strengthening the people who make that instruction possible every day.

Across sessions and conversations, staff engaged in meaningful professional learning, shared best practices, and explored new ways to support students academically, socially, and emotionally.

Days like this are an investment in the people who make our schools what they are. When our staff has the time and space to learn from one another and to build new strategies together, that impact carries directly into classrooms. Professional learning isn’t separate from student success, it’s what makes it possible.

This work is part of a larger commitment. As outlined in our strategic plan, we believe that investing in our staff is essential to delivering high-quality education and creating a culture where every learner feels supported and empowered.

Today may have looked different without students in our buildings, but it was still about them in every way. Because when our staff learns, our students benefit. For more photos, visit our Facebook. Interested in working for SDoL? For more information and to apply, click here.
