The public has a new way to monitor the School District of Lancaster’s progress toward its equity goals.
The Office of Data Analytics published an equity dashboard on the district website, detailing gaps in academic achievement, attendance, behavior, staffing and more.
Public reporting of equity data is required per school board Policy 832: Education Equity, which the board approved in May 2022. The equity policy outlines key definitions of equity within the district and sets out requirements to monitor quantitative and qualitative data for decision-making.
The same month, the board released its first Equity Report Card, which analyzed data from the 2018-2019 school year. The new Equity Dashboard provides data from 2018-2019 to 2022-2023, and will continue to be updated throughout each school year as data becomes available.
“The dashboard allows all stakeholders to dig into the district’s data to better understand the equity gaps that exist and the progress we are making to close them,” said Dr. Jeremy Raff, the district’s director of data analytics.
The English language equity dashboard is now available, with a Spanish language version slated to launch shortly. A video tutorial is also available to assist users with navigating the dashboard.
