The district is partnering with a new Vision to Learn program that provides vision care and glasses to students who fail their eye exam at no cost to families.
Students will be screened at school, as mandated by the state. If the student does not pass the screening, families will be notified with a referral letter.
Students will then be examined by an eye doctor unless they opt out of the exam. If glasses are needed, they will be able to choose from more than 150 frames. The glasses would then be ordered and returned to the school by Vision to Learn within 3-4 weeks. Insurance may be billed but there will be no cost to families.
Families will receive additional information from their child’s school in the coming weeks.
