McCaskey High School is preparing to celebrate our 700 graduates in the Class of 2025 during our 91st Commencement on Thursday, May 29. The graduation will be held at Penn Medicine Park, beginning at 7 p.m. We want to ensure all of our graduates and their families know what to expect over the next several days.
Our next graduation practice will be Tuesday, May 27 at McCaskey beginning at 7:50 a.m. All seniors must be present the entire time to participate in graduation. There is no school for seniors on May 29.
Seniors must have picked up their caps and gowns and paid all obligations to ensure their diplomas are available following the ceremony.
Families should prepare for heavy traffic in the stadium area on the evening of Commencement. Also, please have plans for where and how to meet your graduate after they receive their diplomas. Families will not be permitted in the diploma distribution area.
The rain date for Commencement is Friday, May 30. However, we want to be considerate toour families who have arranged to attend on Thursday. We will make every effort to hold the ceremony as scheduled on May 29. That means we will proceed in light rain, passing showers, or with a threat of rain in the forecast. Please note that umbrellas will not be permitted in the stands or on the field at Penn Medicine Park.
We will use the rain date in the event of harshly inclement weather only. We will monitor the weather forecast closely and will communicate any updates via social media, the district website, and direct communication with families beginning on May 28 at 4 p.m., and periodically thereafter if there are any changes to the ceremony. We will decide if we need to postpone no later than 2 p.m. on May 29.
We are enormously excited to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2025 next week!
Sincerely,
Dr. Justin Reese
Principal
