From greeting students with a smile to preparing nutritious meals that meet USDA guidelines, their work helps fuel learning, build community, and ensure that every child is cared for.
This week, as we celebrate National School Lunch Week, October 13 to October 17, we’re taking a moment to recognize the dedication and teamwork of the entire Food and Child Nutrition Services team. Their commitment to maintaining food safety standards while serving thousands of meals each day reflects the heart of SDoL’s mission, nurturing the whole child.
Within that spirit, the Office of Food and Child Nutrition Services also celebrated several employees who went above and beyond in September. Please join us in congratulating our most recent honorees:
-
Melinda Robinson, McCaskey East
-
Margarita Cruz Ocasio, McCaskey East
-
Tina Hicks, JP McCaskey
-
Hector Medina Molina, JP McCaskey
-
Severina Heredia, Food Service Floater
-
Ruby Howard, Fulton Elementary
These individuals represent the spirit of service that defines our food service family, but every member of the team deserves appreciation for the vital role they play each day.
To our entire Food and Child Nutrition Services staff, thank you for nourishing our students, uplifting our schools, and reminding us that kindness can be served one meal at a time.
