Dear SDoL families,
As the winter season approaches, the School District of Lancaster is reminding families about the procedures to notify you of schedule changes due to inclement weather. Please take a moment to review the following communication methods that will be utilized to relay information about any changes to the school schedule:
- Text Message: All parent/guardian text-eligible numbers will receive a text message indicating a two-hour delay, early dismissal, or school closure. The message will include directions to visit our website for more detailed information.
- Website Pop-Up: Check our official website (sdlancaster.org) for a pop-up with information about school closure, two-hour delay, or early dismissal.
- Email: Look out for an email sent to all parent/guardian email addresses.
- Social Media: Following our family communication, we will post updates on our official district Facebook page (Sdolpa) and Instagram account (@sdolancaster) for public viewing.
- Local News Stations: Information about schedule changes will be posted on local news stations.
For more details on communication expectations during weather-related schedule changes, please visit our dedicated page below:
During two-hour delay schedules, buses will operate exactly two (2) hours later than their regular A.M. pick-up times. In the case of early dismissals, the timing will be flexible based on weather conditions. We will use the communication methods outlined above to convey the dismissal time and busing information.
If you have recently changed your contact information, please take a moment to update it by contacting your student’s school office. You only need to reach out to one office if you have students in multiple buildings.
