The School District of Lancaster is pleased to announce that Kindergarten Registration is now open for the 2025-2026 school year. We are excited to welcome the McCaskey Class of 2038!
All children who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2025, and reside in Lancaster City or Lancaster Township are eligible to apply for kindergarten. Families are encouraged to complete the registration process early to ensure their child’s guaranteed placement in their neighborhood school.
How to Register:
Parents and guardians can begin the registration process by visiting the ParentVUE portal, our online student information system. If you don’t already have an account, you’ll need to create one. Once logged in, you’ll be asked to answer a series of registration questions and schedule a time to visit the enrollment office to complete the paperwork.
You’ll also be able to upload required documents electronically, such as:
- Proof of Birth (e.g., birth certificate or passport)
- Immunization Records
- Proof of Address (e.g., utility bill or lease agreement)
If you’re unable to upload any documents, you can bring them to your scheduled appointment.
Important Changes in Pennsylvania School Law
Please note that the Pennsylvania compulsory school age has recently changed. As of this year, children are required to begin school no later than age 6 and continue attending school until they turn 18 or graduate.
We look forward to welcoming the newest members of our SDoL community and supporting them as they begin their educational journey. If you have any questions or need assistance with the registration process, please don’t hesitate to contact the SDoL Enrollment Office.
We can’t wait for the McCaskey Class of 2038 to begin their learning journey!
