McCaskey HS inducts 73 members into National Honor Society

The ceremony, held in McCaskey East’s auditorium, highlighted the achievements of in scholarship, leadership, service, and character—hallmarks of NHS membership.

Principal Dr. Justin Reese opened the event with welcoming remarks, highlighting the importance of the evening. “Tonight, we honor 73 students who have gone above and beyond in their dedication to academics and service,” said Dr. Reese. “Their accomplishments inspire us all and remind us of the power of determination and community.”

The ceremony began with a traditional candle-lighting ritual, symbolizing the four pillars of the National Honor Society. After the candle-lighting, the inductees stood together to recite the National Honor Society pledge, committing themselves to uphold the organization’s values. The students received their official NHS pins and certificates, symbolizing their new roles as members of this prestigious group.

Jed Burkholder, Assistant Principal, emphasized the potential of the inductees to create meaningful change in their communities. “This group of students has shown incredible dedication to their studies and to serving others,” said Mr. Burkholder. “They are leaders who will undoubtedly make a difference.”
