Good Afternoon,
As many of you are aware, we received a threat involving McCaskey students via social media this morning. We immediately worked with our School Resource Officers and other Lancaster City Police officials to conduct a thorough investigation. Based on the information we had at hand, we felt confident that our students were safe remaining at school and following a normal schedule. I commend our students and staff for remaining calm and orderly while we followed police protocol which included additional police presence on Campus.
Please know that we take every threat seriously in the School District of Lancaster and will always work with our police departments to assess all threats. Students who use social media to threaten students and staff will be held accountable. Thank you for your continued support as the safety of our students and staff is always our top priority.
Sincerely,
Dr. Damaris Rau
Superintendent
P.S. To complicate matters, our phone system was down earlier today throughout the district. We apologize to parents and other family members who had trouble contacting the school directly.
