Congratulations to J.P. McCaskey High School students Jason Brown (grade 12) and Anne McIlvaine (grade 10) for their participation in the PMEA District 7 Choir, which was held on January 16 and 17 at Central Dauphin High School. The choir was comprised of 215 of the highest ranked high school students in PMEA District 7. Students rehearsed on January 16 and presented a concert on January 17.
The concert, under the direction of Professor Jerry Blackstone of the University of Michigan, consisted of collegiate-level repertoire. Some featured selections included “Regina Coeli” by Mozart, and “The Sweetheart of the Sun” by Eric William Barnum. Both Jason Brown and Anne McIlvaine successfully auditioned and advanced to the PMEA Region 5 Choir, which will take place at Eastern York High School on February 27-29.
