Dear SDoL Families,
We are closely monitoring the weather forecast for tonight and Thursday. Forecasters are predicting a mixed-precipitation winter storm that could impact our operations. We want to give you advance notice of our planning.
Precipitation is scheduled to change this evening to sleet and freezing rain, with ice possibly accumulating up to 0.25” by Thursday morning, before temperatures warm into the 40s. If we are unable to open schools, we will use a Flexible Instruction Day (FID) on Thursday. This announcement will be made by 6 a.m. after evaluating weather conditions.
Teachers are preparing to send devices home with students at the end of school today so students have what they need for virtual learning on Thursday. Please take a moment to review what happens for students during a FID on our website.
Family-teacher conferences scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. on Thursday are on as scheduled.
Please send all devices back on the next day of in-person instruction. Thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate this upcoming winter storm.
