The School District of Lancaster is proud to once again partner with the Power Packs Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending weekend hunger in schools across Lancaster, Lebanon, and York counties. For many of our students, school breakfasts and lunches are essential sources of nutrition. But when the weekend arrives, families may face difficult choices. Power Packs ensures that children return to school on Monday fed, nourished, and ready to learn.
Beginning Wednesday, September 17, 2025, Power Packs will provide weekly food distributions containing everything families need to prepare a healthy weekend meal. Each Power Pack includes:
-
A low-cost, easy-to-prepare recipe.
-
All the ingredients needed to make that recipe.
-
Pantry staples such as cereal, rice, pasta, beans, and peanut butter.
-
Local fresh items like milk and produce.
-
Helpful tips on nutrition, budgeting, and food preparation.
