RegenAll’s Youth Climate Art Contest – November 7

This fall, RegenAll is giving students across the county a platform to share their voices through its first-ever Youth Climate Art Contest, a pre-event to the organization’s third annual Climate Summit.

On Friday, November 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, young artists will showcase their visions of a “green future.” Their work will remind us that while climate change presents challenges, it also offers opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and imagination. The winning entries will be displayed the next day at the Climate Summit on Saturday, November 8, at the Lancaster County Convention Center, ensuring that their ideas are seen not only by peers and families, but also by lawmakers, community leaders, and decision-makers.

The contest prompt,“What does your idea of a green future look like?”, invites students to dream boldly. For some, that vision may be thriving parks and clean rivers; for others, it may be renewable energy, walkable neighborhoods, or wildlife flourishing alongside people. However they interpret the theme, their artwork will carry an important message, the future belongs to them, and their voices matter in shaping it.

Already, the spirit of this contest has rippled out into the community. At The Mix, students in 3rd and 4th grade joined Let’s Go 1-2-3 in cleaning up trash around their neighborhood before creating their own climate-inspired art. Their colorful pieces are great representations to what happens when young people are invited to pair action with imagination. Thanks to support from the Lancaster County Community Foundation, projects like these show that environmental stewardship can begin with small, everyday acts and grow into lasting commitments.

RegenAll’s Youth Climate Art Contest is a reminder that while adults wrestle with policy and infrastructure, the next generation is already envisioning a world worth fighting for. Their creativity challenges us to see beyond the present moment and to imagine, together, a Lancaster County, and a planet, that is sustainable, just, and full of life.
