SAT Testing At McCaskey Cancelled this Fall

Due to COVID-19 safety concerns and the current online learning format, School District of Lancaster is cancelling all on site SAT tests during the first marking period. This includes the Saturday, September 26th SAT and the October 14th School Day SAT. College Board is still offering the SAT in person at area high schools; students can visit the College Board website for registration information.

School District of Lancaster still plans to host the Saturday, November 7th SAT. The district added an SAT test for December 5th to accommodate for the cancelled exams. Students should visit the College Board website to register as space is limited. ACT testing is scheduled for December 12th, students can register at the ACT website. Fee waivers are available for students who qualify, students should contact their counselor to obtain a waiver.

A growing number of colleges are going test optional this year, allowing students to apply without SAT or ACT scores. This includes local institutions like Elizabethtown College, Franklin and Marshall College, and Millersville University. The NCAA recently waived the standardized test score requirement for Class of 2021 students. A full list of test optional schools is available here. School District of Lancaster encourages all higher education institutions to follow suit and remove the standardized test requirement given the COVID-19 pandemic.

Students and families with questions can contact Dr. Jeremy Raff, Coordinator of College and Career Services at jtraff@sdlancaster.org.
