Winter sports in the School District of Lancaster received the go-ahead from the school board to begin practicing and competing with COVID-19 protocols in place. The vote was 8-1.
The board considered several options with varying degrees of restrictions and chose an option that would allow for full teams, coaches, game officials and workers to be present in the gymnasium for boys and girls basketball and wrestling. Cheerleaders will be required to wear masks.
No spectators will be permitted in any SDoL gymnasiums. Additionally, the Lancaster-Lebanon League does not allow spectators for bowling, and the pool where the swimming team competes does not have a gallery for spectators.
