Dear SDoL families,
We look forward to welcoming our students back to school on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. As school begins, our staff in the School District of Lancaster will provide information to all our students in grades 5-12 on Pennsylvania’s anonymous school safety reporting system known as Safe2Say.
The trusted adults in our schools work hard every day to develop positive relationships with our students. We always hope that students will trust their teachers, counselors, principals, School Resource Officers, or other staff to listen and help them in times of need.
The PA Office of the Attorney General recognizes, however, that there may be times when students would feel more comfortable making an anonymous report. Safe2Say is an option for students, as well as parents, guardians, or others, to share concerns anonymously.
Tips go to the PA Office of Attorney General Crisis Center before it is relayed to the identified schools and/or local law enforcement, depending on the severity of the tip. The school adults and/or law enforcement will address the report.
Reports can be made online at www.Safe2SayPA.org or by phone at 1.888.SAF2SAY or through the Safe2Say mobile app. A link is available on student iPads.
If you have questions about the Safe2Say program or wish to make a report directly to one of our schools, please contact your child’s building administrator. Thank you for your ongoing support in keeping the School District of Lancaster a safe place to learn and grow.
