The School District of Lancaster is thrilled to announce the winners of the 2024 STEM Fair, where students showcased their innovative projects aimed at addressing pressing environmental issues facing our community.
Throughout the event, we witnessed firsthand the dedication and passion that our young scientists and engineers poured into their projects. City of Lancaster, PA Mayor Danene Sorace took the time to review these thoughtful projects, recognizing the ingenuity and potential behind each one. Beyond being a mere fair, the Lancaster STEM Fair was a glimpse into the future. Each project showcased not only their technical skills but also their deep-rooted desire to make a positive impact on our community and beyond.

In response to the problems of Trash and Litter:

2nd Place (tie score):
- Nicholas Patton from Wheatland Middle School – How to Reduce Litter in the City of Lancaster
- Washington’s 4th Grade Class – Do Plants Grown with Compost Germinate Faster? Reducing Waste Through Composting
1st Place: Ima Jones and Prisha Upreti from Wharton Elementary – How to Recycle and Reuse Styrofoam
