Every February, we come together as a nation to celebrate Black History Month—a time to honor the achievements, resilience, and contributions of Black Americans throughout history. The NAACP Lancaster Branch and the School District of Lancaster are proud to partner in fostering a culture of equity, inclusion, and year-round learning.
Together, we are committed to ensuring that Black history is not just a chapter, but a core part of our curriculum and conversations. At the School District of Lancaster, we believe Black history isn’t just a month—it’s an essential part of our curriculum, conversations, and community every day.
This month, we are proud to highlight the voices of Black educators, leaders, and community members who inspire and empower our students. Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing their journeys, stories, and impact across our district. In our classrooms, students will engage in meaningful discussions, activities, and events that deepen their understanding and appreciation of Black history.
Education is the foundation for understanding, growth, and unity—and we invite our entire community to join us in learning, celebrating, and continuing the work toward equity and inclusion.
