This week, the School District of Lancaster proudly joins the American School Counselor Association in celebrating National School Counselors Week. We take this opportunity to recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions of our 34 dedicated school counselors, who work tirelessly to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students.
School counselors are more than advisors. They are advocates, mentors, and trusted partners in our schools. Every day, they foster welcoming and inclusive environments where students feel heard, supported, and empowered. Whether guiding students through academic challenges, assisting with future planning, or helping navigate personal and social concerns, our counselors play a vital role in shaping students’ success.
Beyond their direct work with students, our counselors collaborate closely with families, ensuring concerns are addressed and meaningful support plans are put in place. They also partner with teachers and staff, problem-solving together to create learning environments where all students have the opportunity to thrive. Their expertise and compassion make a lasting difference in the lives of our students and the overall school community.
To our school counselors: we see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you. Your dedication and commitment to our students, families, and staff embody the very best of what education should be. Your presence in our schools is a reminder that together, we can. Thank you for all that you do!
