The School District of Lancaster is extending the appointments of four interim principals for the entire upcoming school year.
Three schools in the district are currently led by interim principals: Mr. Justin Reese at Buchanan Elementary, Dr. Shelby Cunningham at E.R. Martin School and co-principals Mr. Luis Diaz and Ms. Jazmin Torres at the McCaskey High School Campus. These leaders will continue as interim principals for 2020-2021.
“In these highly uncertain times, we believe this measure of stability is in the best interest of our students, families and staff,” superintendent Dr. Damaris Rau said in a message to staff and families. “More importantly, all of these individuals have proven to be strong, effective leaders in their roles, and we are grateful for their continued service.”
At this time, the district intends to follow its regular search process for permanent leaders of these schools in the spring of 2021.
