School District of Lancaster is excited to announce that the district is one of 10 organizations nationwide to receive a $100,000 grant from the National College Attainment Network and The Kresge Foundation. This grant will support the Class of 2021 as they matriculate to college and other postsecondary training. Support will also be offered to the Class of 2020, reconnecting students with postsecondary education and ensuring students persist in their studies. COVID-19 had a significant impact on the ability for students to transition to college seamlessly; this funding will provide significant support directly to SDoL graduates as they transition to life after McCaskey.
This funding enables the district to launch the McCaskey To & Through program for the McCaskey Classes of 2020 and 2021. This new and exciting program provides students with direct support, matching them with a postsecondary success advisor who follows students into the summer and first semester of college. This advisor will:
- Assist students with course registration, financial aid, and future planning
- Communicate regularly with students via text, phone call, and email to ensure they are on track
- Answer any questions students may have and assist them in addressing barriers to success
- Connect students with important resources and supports on campus and in the local community
- Connect students with a cohort of other college students
Students will also receive some unique benefits through programmatic support, including near-peer mentoring, specialized college transition events and courses, access to assistance funding, and more.
It’s simple to sign up for support. Simply complete this form and opt in to the McCaskey To & Through program. Staff from School District of Lancaster will be in touch about next steps and how we can support you to and through postsecondary education!
