
9th grade students are encouraged to apply to the Johnson & Johnson Bridge to Employment (BTE) program. Bridge to Employment is a partnership among Johnson & Johnson, the School District of Lancaster, Lancaster County STEM Alliance and local colleges to help 50 high school students acquire the STEM2D
and (science, technology, engineering, math, manufacturing and design), and college and career readiness skills they need to excel academically, thrive in post-secondary education and elevate their career aspirations.
As part of the program students participate in 8 hours of activities a month. Activities include college and career tours, hands on STEM projects, and career exploration activities. To participate students must meet the following qualifications:
- Be enrolled in 9th grade at McCaskey High School during the 2020-21 school year, successfully pass 9th grade
- Pass 9th grade at the end of the 20-21 school year
- Agree to a minimum of 8 hours a month of participation for 3 years
- Must self-identify as meeting the intent of this project
- Have a 65% attendance rate or better or be able to adequately explain why they have not been able to maintain their attendance and why this will not be a problem over the next 3 years
- Complete and submit a BTE application no later than April 30th
