The School District of Lancaster is updating its volunteer clearance process to better serve families and community members who generously give their time in our schools.
SDoL has officially transitioned from its former clearance platform, Safe Kids Gateway, to a new, more user-friendly system called Navigate 360. Because of system differences, volunteer clearance records previously submitted through Safe Kids cannot be transferred into Navigate 360.
To remain active as an approved volunteer, all individuals must upload their clearance documents into Navigate 360 by January 1, 2026. Current volunteers may continue serving in schools until that date. Beginning January 5, 2026, however, only volunteers registered and approved through Navigate 360 will be recognized as cleared to participate.
It is not necessary to obtain new clearance documents unless your current ones have expired. Volunteer clearance documents are valid for five years and must be renewed to maintain approval status.
How to Upload Clearances in Navigate 360:
- Visit the Navigate 360 Volunteer Portal.
- Click Become a Volunteer.
- Read the Welcome Letter and click Continue.
- Complete the Personal Information section, then click Save and Continue.
- Upload your clearances and required forms in the Volunteer Information section.
- Review your information and click Submit.
After submission, Navigate 360 will send you a confirmation email. Once your documents have been reviewed, you will receive another email letting you know whether your application has been approved. If there are any questions during the review, a District staff member will contact you directly.

SDoL appreciates the continued support of its volunteers. While we recognize this transition requires an extra step, the safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority.
