The School District of Lancaster is making “meaningful progress” on the goals in its 5-year strategic plan, adopted in 2023. The district released a report on the 2024-2025 school year, the first year of the plan’s implementation.
“While updates to several 2029 targets are still pending, we’re pleased to share areas where we’ve already made meaningful progress toward our goals,” said Dr. Jeremy Raff, the district’s director of data analytics and strategy. Raff said the district showed progress in the following areas:
- Increasing the School Climate Index
- Reducing chronic absenteeism
- Increasing the Family Satisfaction Score
- Increasing Job Satisfaction
- Decreasing the gap between the percentage of students of color and staff of color
“While these results are encouraging, we also recognize the need for continued focus on improving ELA and Math proficiency,” Raff said.
Although Math scores showed some improvement, growth fell short of the district’s annual goal. ELA scores declined, putting SDoL further from its 2029 targets.
“Strategic plan progress is not always linear, and this is evident after the first year of the plan,” Raff said. “We remain committed to learning from these results and strengthening our efforts to ensure continued improvement.”
