Message from Principal Martz

Good Afternoon SWE Families~

I hope everyone enjoyed their Spring Break and are ready to finish strong for the last 28 days of school!  We had a wonderful week of teaching and learning.  Wednesday night was a huge success with our Barnes and Noble Book Fair.  Thank you to all that came out and participated.  The next month will be very busy here at SWE!  We kick off next week with a PSSA Pep Rally for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students on Monday with “Tru2You Legacy” which will feature a guest Masked Singer.  ELA PSSA testing will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and then we end the week with our Race for Education.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  Enjoy the weather!

 

Crossing Guard Information

Please be mindful that the crossing guard at 5th St and West End Ave may not do the following:

Please note that Tom has resigned and they are trying to fill his position. We ask that you are respectful to the substitute crossing guard as it has been reported from the company that kids and parents are communicating inappropriately in an ill manner. We appreciate your cooperation.

 

Barnes & Noble Night

Race for Education

Only ONE week to go until our Race for Education! We are happy to announce that UPMC has sponsored our race this year with a $500 donation! Thank you UPMC! SWE students continue to do an excellent job raising money for our school, now up to $3780. We also have a TIE right now between Kindergarten and Second Grade, both raising $1040 so far. Keep up the great work, students! Tell your friends and family to support you on Race day, April 29th.

Below are the race times for each grade – come cheer on our SWE racers at the Wheatland Middle School track:

Kindergarten: 9-10 am

Third Grade: 10-11 am

Fourth & Fifth Grades: 11am-12pm

First Grade: 12:30-1:30 pm

Second Grade: 1:30-2:30 pm
