Message from Principal Martz
Good Afternoon Smith Wade-El Families~
As we come to the end of 2021, I want to take a moment to thank you for the support you have shown me since I started here at SWE in the middle of November. It has been amazing working with your child/children. They bring a smile to my face every single day. I want to wish you all a wonderful holiday and a happy new year! I can’t wait to see all the hard work from our teachers and students in 2022.

SWE Spirit Week is December 20th – 22nd
Monday, December 20th: Crazy Hat & Socks Day – wear a unique hat and pair of socks
Tuesday, December 21st: Sweater Weather- wear your favorite sweater or sweat shirt
Wednesday, December 22nd: Pajama Day must be school appropriate
Car Rider Loop Reminder
Just a friendly reminder to use caution when dropping and picking up your child in the car rider loop. Please remain with your vehicle at all times. Parents should not be parking and exiting their vehicles.
When dropping off your child in the morning, if you need additional time to get your child situated for the day, please proceed to the staff parking lot at the rear of the school and get back in line for the car rider loop. This will ensure that the drop off line moves quickly to get children into the building safely.
Please note that we are in the process of reviewing all of our systems here at SWE and we will be communicating accordingly.
SWE Shoutouts
We recently started SWE Shoutouts. Students, Staff, and Faculty are encouraged to write a “shoutout” to anyone at the school who is displaying positive, kind, responsible, and respectful behavior. These shoutouts are then selected at random to be read during the announcements.

As we grieve the loss of our assistant superintendent, I want to remind you all that family comes first, which is something I always need to remind myself. Hold your loved ones a little tighter this holiday season and take care of yourselves as well.
I am proud of our school for donating money to the scholarship fund. That is what SWE is all about. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding memorial services for Dr. Powell. The link below is for the scholarship fund if you want to personally donate money.

- January 20th: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Art Show

- 5:45 PM PreK and Kindergarten
- 6:15 PM 1st and 2nd Grade
- 6:30 PM 3rd Grade
- 6:50 PM Band/Chorus/Orchestra
