Car Rider Update

Starting January 3, 2022, 1st  through 5th grade car riders will be dismissed from the gymnasium instead of being outside due to the weather.  K5 car riders will be dismissed from the original car rider location, but will be inside the stairwell doors.  K4 students will continue to dismiss at their normal location.

Please MAKE SURE your car rider sign is visible for staff to be able to call for your child/children quickly.  If you do not have a sign for your car, please call the office at 717-291-6151, so we can make one for you as soon as possible.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to work on making our car rider loop safe and efficient.

As a reminder, only children who are leaving in the car rider loop, should be at those locations.

If you are parking elsewhere and picking up your child, they will be dismissed as a walker with your child’s teacher at their normal location.  Also, please remind your students that they should not be bringing Pokemon cards to school and trading them at dismissal.

Thank you to Weis Markets for presenting Smith-Wade-El with a Weis 4 School Rewards donation this week. These funds were earned and generated by our school’s supporters while shopping at Weis Markets’ stores using their Weis Preferred Shoppers Club card and will be used to benefit children’s educational needs. We thank Weis Markets and our SWE families for supporting this program.

Santa Spokes

On Saturday, over 30 students in SDoL received a bicycle, helmet, and lock from a program called Santa’s Spokes.  Santa’s Spokes gives new bikes to kids in need and their mission is that a child gets a new bike at least once in their life time.  Born in the summer of 2015 at Tellus360, six health care providers dreamed of a way to give back to the community that they loved in a way that would leave a lasting impression.  This is the 7th year this wonderful program gave back to our community.
