Wheatland MS go the extra mile at Annual Tiger Run

On October 10, the Wheatland Middle School community came together for one of its most exciting annual traditions, the Tiger Run. Organized by the Wheatland PTO, this year’s color run turned the school grounds into a joyful celebration of school pride and teamwork.

Students from all three grades took part in the 1.25 mile course that looped around the school, complete with colorful powder stations and a live DJ that kept the music going from start to finish. Teachers, staff, and families lined the sidewalks to cheer them on, creating a scene filled with laughter and school spirit.

But the day was about more than running, it was about giving back. The Tiger Run serves as Wheatland’s largest fundraiser of the year, raising more than $3,000 to support student field trips across all grade levels. These trips provide opportunities for students to explore new places, experience hands-on learning, and connect classroom lessons to the world around them.

“The Tiger Run is one of our favorite days of the year because it brings everyone together, students, families, and staff, for a shared purpose,” said Don Trost, principal. “Every dollar raised goes directly toward enriching our students’ experiences.”

To make things even more exciting, the PTO announced that the grade raising the most money will earn a special reward, motivating students to rally their classmates and reach their fundraising goals.

The event’s success reflects the dedication of the Wheatland PTO, volunteers, and school staff, whose planning and enthusiasm made it all possible. From the careful coordination of color stations to the upbeat soundtrack that echoed across the field, every detail came together to create a day students will remember all year long.

The Tiger Run is a celebration of effort and the power of community support. Thanks to everyone who ran, volunteered, and cheered, Wheatland students are one step closer to new adventures and learning experiences this school year. For more photos, visit us on Facebook.
