Literary works of all genres are studied intensively in the continuation of the first year of this course. Class discussion and written responses to novels, short fiction, drama, and poetry are an integral part of the course and content. Close reading and contemplative, highly organized methods of expository writing and revision are components of the course.
Methods of learning are as important as the subject matter studied. Students taking this course are eligible to take the IB examination.
