Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in the Curricula
The School District of Lancaster celebrates diversity and is committed to inclusion and equity in the presentation of curricula resources per School Board Policies 103 and 103.1 and our Guidelines for Supporting Transgender Students. The SDoL curriculum highlights the contributions of people from all walks of life. SDoL strives to engage and challenge all students by providing culturally responsive educational experiences to prepare students for life after graduation. Our goal is to educate students to understand, accept and value all members of the world community, inclusive of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic status, learning style, ability, and age. In accordance with Board Policy 105.1, parents may review curricula materials. Parents are also extended the right to opt out of components of curricula that do not match their beliefs. Replacement instruction that is consistent with the goals set for the course and does not require the provision of any extra resources by the district may be provided per Board Policy 105.2.
