Each year, Pride Month invites us to reflect on what it means to create communities where people feel seen and safe enough to be themselves.
We were proud to participate in this year’s Pride Flag Raising alongside our community members and partners who continue to help make Lancaster a more welcoming place for all people.
The Pride Flag Raising is a reminder that visibility matters. It matters for the students who are still learning how to name who they are. It matters for the staff members who show up every day hoping to be seen as their full selves. It matters for families, neighbors, and community members who want to know that Lancaster is a place where they belong.

For SDoL, that commitment is not limited to one ceremony or one month. It’s part of the work we are called to do every day.
This Pride Month, we celebrate our LGBTQIA+ community and reaffirm our commitment to making sure every student knows they deserve to feel safe, supported, respected, and valued in school.
